St John’s
Ambulance member Kate White was the guest speaker at the latest weekly meeting
of the Rotary Club of Hucknall. With the
assistance of Rotarians Richard White (Kate’s father) and Ivan Manning, Kate
demonstrated the latest procedures and techniques in giving emergency aid. With some good-natured banter flying around
the room, Richard gamely offered to be the injured party as Kate explained what
to do in an emergency and how to place someone into the recovery position.
I was
then ‘volunteered’ to demonstrate the Recovery position and followed the
instructions given to me by members (to show whether or not they were
listening).
Kate and
Ivan then demonstrated how to give CPR using the Little Annie mannequin doll.
