The Rotary Year runs from 1st July. So, traditionally the last club meeting in
June when the President whose year in office is ending hands over the
chain/badge of office to his successor.
Rotary clubs are encouraged to have a leadership plan in place so that
there is a progression plan. Ideally, a
Rotarian accepts the invitation to serve the club as Junior
Vice-President. The following year, he
then moves up to the office of Senior Vice-President and by the third year, he
inherits the role of President.
On Tuesday 26th June, I was extremely privileged
to be inducted as the 87th President of the Rotary Club of Hucknall
by Outgoing President Richard White. It
had been a honour serving under Richard and being mentored by him.
